Usability Benchmark

Description: The goal of this service is to collect quantitative data that describes the usability of a product or system. The Benchmark is performed with a larger number of users than the Prototype Evaluation, in that the goal is to collect statistically valid quantitative data that may be used to make comparisons with other products or to track improvements.  An example of our usability benchmarking process is described in "A Case Study: Usability Problems in an Electronic Store"

Resources: Two cognitive engineers, 2-4 weeks, depending upon complexity of the product and range of tasks to be evaluated

Deliverable: A report that summarizes data from the usability evaluation. A videotape containing highlights of the evaluation may also be provided.
